Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology NHS Foundation Trust

Public and Patient Involvement (PPI)

At Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology we are committed to involving our patients, their relatives and carers in the work we do. PPI involvement helps us to provide a service that meets the needs of our patients.

Listening to you

Changes are made as a result of listening to our patients and the public.

For example, our patients told us they preferred designated visiting times and protected meal times, so this was implemented in July 2006 and is regularly audited.

There are many different ways of getting involved in the work we do here at the Centre

  • Suggestion boxes - around the centre we have red post boxes that enable patients and visitors to share their comments, compliments and concerns
  • PALS - our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) is available to discuss anything that you feel we need to know
  • The Patient’s Council - the Council are a group of patients, ex- patients and carers, who help give the Trust the ‘lay-person’s’ opinion. Some of them meet here at the Centre every six weeks, where they assist with surveys and speaking to the people who are using our services. Other members keep in touch via email (The E-council) and their help is invaluable with the proofreading of patient information
  • Patient Experience Feedback forms - please complete a form when you are discharged from a ward or have completed your treatment, as it enables you to give your views on the quality of your care
