Clinical referral
The majority of referrals to the centre (98%) come from secondary care, consultant to consultant. The other 2% of referrals are from GPs.
For all referrals we ideally require the patient’s details needed for the Inter Provider Transfer Minimum Data Set (IPTMDS) and an accompanying letter.

Referrals are welcomed by letter, email, fax or phone. Any referrals made online MUST come via a secure address, such as an NHS email account.
We also receive a small number of referrals from overseas patients. In these cases we require as much information as possible, including diagnosis, surgery, previous treatment and so on. Referrals must be made in English, but we are able to organise an interpreter for the patient if and when they do attend the Centre for treatment.
